When the time came for me to downsize and redefine my living space, I knew I needed an expert. Sharon was recommended to me by a friend. She helped me choose an appropriate paint color to highlight my collection of artwork. On her advice I was able to avoid the costly mistake of making my rooms too dark. After setting a budget, we went to work on paint colors, carpeting, lighting and window treatments. That overwhelming feeling of where to begin was gone as Sharon guided and sometimes gently nudged us in a direction that we would not have seen ourselves and wound up loving it. She found great accent pieces (very affordable) that gave our home that bit of pop that works perfectly with everything else. Repainting an existing dark stained built-in bookcase to a soft oyster color dramatically lightened and opened up our living room. With her attention to detail, Sharon rearranged books and photos, added a few accent pieces, art and greenery and the new bookcase look is not only attractive but very interesting as well.
In the time we worked together on this project, Sharon has been a true professional. She has displayed great time management, respect for our budget, creative and doable ideas, and a fabulous sense of style. Sharon is so very personable, pleasant and easy to work with that I will miss checking in with her on a regular basis. Friends stopped by recently and said they just loved our home. Next she created a dramatic tablescape for my dining room table and a cozy holiday feel in my family room. I told her that I wanted to do something different with my Christmas tree this year but didn’t know quite what. Using my burlap ribbon and red berries she found on some old wreaths I was about to throw away, Sharon designed a natural-looking, beautiful tree, just what I had hoped for! She finished by decorating the family room mantle using fresh boxwood garland, white birch branches, my red hurricanes, and tiny white lights. I like working with Sharon because she understands my taste, encourages me to step out of my comfort zone and try new ideas, and she is fun to work with!

“I had recently been given my grandmother’s antique living room and dining room furniture as well as some very old but very beautiful drapes. 
Sharon began by helping me choose a great paint color for the room-one that was soft and subtle. Then she helped me make changes in furniture placement that completely changed the way the two rooms “feel.” Prior to her suggestions, the rooms were too formal and stiff, but she was able to see the rooms differently and rearrange the furniture and some of my decorative pieces so that the rooms are still formal but they are very inviting and comfortable.
The biggest challenge was the drapes. I wanted to keep them because I love them and because they are sentimental for me, but they weren’t the same widths and just hanging them didn’t work with my windows. Sharon spent a lot of time looking for the perfect rods and worked with me in measuring the windows and the panels and she came up with solutions to our problems. We were able to use the drapes and they completed the room. Both my husband and I are very happy with how the rooms turned out and we now use them so much more often.”

“My historic (old, 1880) home certainly has many desirable features however, it does present decorating challenges if you want to look like you live in this century.
